Wow it’s almost time! I’ve been working away like mad the last while preparing my art installation for the great event that is Splore 2010. Was really excited to be one of the artists selected to create an install for this combined music and arts 3 day long festival extravaganza. And it’s got a pretty cool name too.. 😉
What have I come up with? Well soon all will be revealed… what I can tell you is that it’s an interactive piece(s), it let’s the viewer create the end result and it took a whole lot longer to create than anticipated! (hidden sneak peak was posted on Friday fav photo 2) Can’t wait to see how it goes, of course check back and I’ll get some photos up of people at play. Or if you’re there and take a pic then please do post it up.
There’s a great music line up this year at Splore with Basement Jaxx, Jamie Lidell and awesome NZ acts like Pitch Black and Tahuna Breaks and a whole lot more.
Check out the official site for the full list of artists both audio and visual: Splore.net (cool site by Salted Herring by the way). And if you’re interested about it’s beginnings there’s an interview with Splore Director Amanda Wright and some more about the art trail over at the Big Idea.
(A huge thank you to James & Lars for their assistance on this project, not sure how I would have done it otherwise with my broken ankle!)
