Extremely excited to announce the release of my latest work! The project was the redesign and development of the Carbon Art Wave Board range, looking to create a completely new look to reinvent and reinvigorate the boards aesthetic appeal…

This weeks favourite photo is a sneak peek at a project I’ve been working on for a while…a new redesign of Carbon Art waveboards! Featuring all new illustrations and graphics that can be customized – letting board buyers choose their colour and choose the image for their board.
Releasing soon so will keep you updated with the full reveal as soon as I can!

I was stoked to be asked to design the Tshirt again this year for the New Zealand Wavesailing windsurf Nationals. This was the final result, featuring a fairly realistic illustration of the kind of conditions we usually get around here for the event. The style follows on from last years design and was of course the main highlight of the event for most competitors…well apart from maybe the winners .

Here’s a few images showing some of the process behind the creation of the Cubes I made for the recent Splore festival 2010 (see previous post). The brief and concept was all about creating something for festival goers to enjoy, interact, have fun and tie in with the theme of Midsummer Nights Dream 2050. An added essential was that it had to be able to survive 3 days with 7,000 people…

Just had to share the latest interview up over at Grain Edit at the moment. The site itself is one of my regular haunts, it features a lot of really great work from super amazing illustrators & designers around the world with a 50’s-70’s slant.
So this week they have posted up an interview with S. Britt, an illustrator that (may or may not?) resides in Pickleton USA. His work has that classic style, but he definately stamps his own uniqueness to it all and wields his skills in a masterful manner. Personally I found the interview entertaining, enlightening and above all his responses where a refreshing change to the usual 1+1=2 interviews you normally read…head on over and check it out, make sure you have few minutes to sit back and enjoy and be sure to stick around for the guaranteed succesfull recipe to creative process!
Check out the interview here!
More of S.Britt’s work on his website.
And be sure to keep enjoying the ever enjoyable Grain Edit site!

*Ok, well strictly not completely free as you will require paper and pencil and also have to devote the time and effort to doing it yourself!
That’s right, go grab yourself these awesome free PDF books on art, illustration and painting and learn some great stuff! The drawing instructional books by Andrew Loomis (a great American illustrator 1892–1959) are now out of print and available to distribute due to their public domain status.
If you have any interest in the art of drawing, painting, illustrating, even design, then these really are great books to go through, learn and tell others about.
Head on over to these locations to download and spread the awesome resource and skills of Andrew Loomis:
